{"id":262,"date":"2016-04-25T08:55:30","date_gmt":"2016-04-25T13:55:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/madeonthefarm.com\/?p=262"},"modified":"2016-08-14T15:15:29","modified_gmt":"2016-08-14T20:15:29","slug":"262","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/madeonthefarm.com\/?p=262","title":{"rendered":"Gardening"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>GARDENING<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Now that there is time I am going to try to have the gardens I always wanted. \u00a0Here you see them being prepped. \u00a0Total area is 840 sq. ft. \u00a0I tried to get close to the French Intensive method. \u00a0That is where the bed are in strips &#8211; so you don,t walk on them and create hard pan or packed dirt that the roots have a hard time growing through. \u00a0Usually with FE you dig down over a foot to loosen the soil. \u00a0I did not do that in that I went about 6 in. deep. \u00a0I did mix in leaves to get organic matter in the soil. \u00a0So I am planting Kale, Arugula, Spinach, Lettuce &#8211; Romaine, Buttercrunch, Asian Greens mixed and a Gourmet Blend, Peas, Beans, three varieties of Cantaloupe, Red Potatoes, Sweet Potatoes, Eggplant, two varieties of Corn, Squash &#8211; Zucchini, Butternut, Acorn and Spaghetti, Cucumbers, Tomatoes &#8211;
